At Happy Heinys it is our goal to have happy customers. We strive to do our best at ensuring that all of our products work well for all of our customers. We take great pride in all of our products. Each and every Happy Heinys product (including all inserts) are made in our facility in El Cajon CA (a suburb of San Diego). We do not use automated machines to produce our products. Each one is hand sewn by local moms on our machines in our facility. Due to this there will sometimes be a defect that manages to get through our intense quality control system and out to the public.
If by some chance you receive one of our products and there happens to be a defect please just let us know, we will take care of the situation promptly.

What is a defect?
Snap defects: This would include any snap issues on any of our products. If you ever lose a snap at any time, if the product is 1 week old or 5 yrs old, please just simply send it in to us and we will repair the snap and send it right back to you.
Elastics: We have a 6 month guarantee on all elastics but we will also repair all elastics for the life of the products. We have at times received some diapers back that have been loved through many babies. Even though we love seeing our diapers used for as many babies as possible, due to the nature of the elastics we are only to repair the elastics one time. That being said we will do so at any time it does not matter if the diaper is 1 wk old or 5 yrs old. Simply send it in and we will promptly repair and return the diaper to you.
Sewing: Sewing defects typically occur within the first few uses if ever. A sewing defect will include a hole in the seam of the product or the aplix coming up. If by some chance you receive an item that has a sewing defect please just send it into us and we will promptly repair and return the item to you. We will repair any sewing defect or hole that may appear on a seam of our products for the life-time of the products. We cannot however repair holes or snags that occur in any of the fabrics due to wear and tear of the fabrics.
What is not considered a defect?
Wicking and leaking are not a defect of any diaper. Most times if a diaper is leaking or wicking the cause is due to wet inserts. Often times this can be resolved by either changing the diaper more frequently or adding an additional insert as a booster. The other cause would be due to sizing. You may want to try adjusting the size of the diaper. If a diaper is too small or too big it can leak and/or wick.
Holes due to excessive use and washing. Due to the nature of some of our natural fabrics excessive use can result in small holes of the items.
How to prevent most of these issues:
- Most often elastic issues are as a result of stuffing pocket diapers directly out of the dryer. Doing so when the diaper is still warm will result in the elastic permanently being stretched and not bouncing back to the unstretched position. Let diapers cool completely before folding or stuffing.
- Be gentle when opening a snap on all diapers. By "ripping" a snap product open it can cause unnecessary stress on the snap that can lead to it pulling from the fabric. By being gentle you are insuring the use of the snap product for many babies.
- Aplix: at Happy Heinys we have made the choice to use the highest quality hook and loop available. We only use Aplix hook and loop, Aplix was specifically manufactured for heavy duty and continual use. There are a couple of things that can help to prolong the life of your Aplix. When doing laundry be sure to use the fold back laundry tabs. This will prevent the all-annoying diaper snake. It will also prevent threads and hair from being caught in the hook portion of the tabs. If for some reason you are not having success with the fold over diaper tabs please view our alternative way of attaching the tabs prior to washing here. If by chance the hook portion of your diaper tabs do have threads/hair in them you can simply clean out the tabs and they will again function like new.
How to return an item for repair or replacement?
Please include a note with a description of the problem, your email address, and your return address. Please only send the affected item. We do not send out emails when an item is received. Once we receive an item in for repair that package goes immediately up to our seamstresses where it is promptly repaired. It is then taken back down to our shipping department where it is sent right back out to you. We try to make this process as quick as possible so that you are without the item for as little time as possible.

Warranty Information
The warranty for our products is as follows:
- Snaps: lifetime *see notes below
- Elastic: 6 month guarantee but will repair once during the lifetime of the diaper
- Sewing: 3 months
- Aplix: 3 months **see notes below
Warranty is extended to the original purchaser of the products only.
Diapers will not be replaced due to repelling, staining, leaking, or sizing issues.
Any defect will be either repaired or replaced at the discretion of Happy Heinys. All diapers must arrive clean, unstained, lint free, and dry. All diapers with excessive wear will not be replaced or repaired under our warranty. Any products sent to us that do not follow the above conditions will be returned without repair.
Due to the nature of our products we can not guarantee how long they will last. The simple process of washing, drying, and wearing will create wear on the diaper. We do expect our product to last through multiple children but this is not a guarantee nor a promise. The life expectancy of our products depends on the amount of use and type of abuse the diaper is given.
Most diapers are washed every other day for several months. We will not be responsible for wear and tear due to the use of our products.
If there is any wear issues within the first 60 days of purchase than we will repair or replace at the discretion of Happy Heinys. Any wear after 60 days is considered to be due to use and does not fall under our warranty.
*If you are an international customer please contact your retailer if there are any snap problems within the 1st three(3) months for replacement. If it has been three (3) months since the date of purchase then the item will need to be sent to us for repair at the customers cost.
**When the Aplix fold-over tabs are not used (see alternative tab folding)
This will cause faster than normal wear on your diapering products. Due to the nature of our products we cannot replace the Aplix. If your diapers are past the 3 month warranty mark we can add snaps to your aplix diaper free of charge. The snaps will be applied onto the Aplix strip.
**If the item does fall under our warranty, product should be mailed directly to us at the owners expense. Please include a note stating the issues, your name, phone, email, and mailing address. Proof of purchase must be included. After reviewing your items we will either repair or replace the item per our warranty guidelines. If the item sent to us is dirty, stained, wet, full of lint or hair in the aplix, or in any other foul or unpleasant condition, the item will be promptly returned to you without repair.

What will void the Happy Heinys warranty:
- Washing instructions are not followed
- Use of Sanitizing cycle while washing or water temperature above 150F or 60C
- Use of detergents containing natural oils or any natural soaps or any detergents not approved by Happy Heinys.
- Use of any fabric softeners or dryer sheets.
- Use of any non-approved diaper rash creams
- Use of bleach, oxyclean, or any other caustic substances that may harm the fabric of the diapers.
Sometimes we do receive well loved Happy Heinys in for repair. Please understand that while we will do our best to help you to prolong the life of your diapers by repairing elastic, snaps, and aplix there are some times when some diapers have been loved beyond repair. Unfortunately we cannot help with these items and they will be returned back to you. Please keep this in mind when sending any products to us.
